ICGN ICGN begs ALL Adults to adjust their "Attitudes" in order to see Positive changes, Worldwide… The following thoughts are meant for you Adults to weigh and consider and not intended for your innocent Children… Re: All of the News/Media in general… and ICGN? (A new Concept in Journalism and communication!)It is my opinion that today's News should be rated just like the Movies. Based on their present content, their rating should be no less than "R". Strictly for Adults!Please read the following lengthy presentation if you feel that children should have their own Special Newspaper su ch as ICGN, in order to voice and share their opinions and frustrations and to try different friendly approaches towards World peace and other important things such as the Environment, Human rights, etc.(Not Religious or Political, just using common sense) As we all know, there are many huge successful Newspapers and TV News Stations situated all over the World. These different entities are successful because people (Adults) purchase their Newspapers and/or watch their TV News, diligently. Yet many people, complain about the Media and its coverage of "Negative News"… This is true, generally the Media reports news that contain negative sensationalism… Including coverage on wars, murderers, bad accidents that cause huge number of people to get hurt or die, sensationalize the misfortune of people found to be drug addicts. (Especially if they happen to be of high profile) Some times if it is popular, things are also blown way out of proportion, (I.e. what was done to a certain US President) report robberies, the bad outcome that Mother Nature often causes, etc…etc…etc. (Do you not agree that negativity is depressing and cannot possibly be healthy, especially so, for Children?) Am I accusing the Media of wrongdoing? No I am not, the real guilty party to all of the above mentioned negativity are the very people doing the complaining, adults! How so? The Media report what they believe Adults want to hear and since they are in business to make money, they should not be faulted? If Adults do not like what is presented by the News Media, they should choose to not purchase the Newspapers or to not watch the News on TV. An alternative to this would be to simply complain directly to the News Media. (Go to the source) No matter who is at fault, injustices do rub me wrong… As an example, when a crazy person "A killer" kills people, the Media goes into frenzy… such a Killer gets more attention (Publicity) than someone that proves to be "A Hero", even if such a person were to save an entire CITY! (This makes no sense, are we saying to our children that killers are more deserving than our Heroes are? Is it also not possible that such logic could cause other crazy people to kill in order to get similar incredible publicity?) I do not wish to go any further with this, because if I did you might feel that I would be insulting your intelligence. (Since I am sure that you are aware of this) I do however, have a few questions for you to consider: Do you agree that the Media has tremendous influential power, especially so, on Children? As a Parent, are you comfortable in what your Children are reading in Newspapers and the News that they are hearing and seeing on TV? As a Parent, do you sometimes wish that you had full control in what your Children see and/or hear, pertaining to World News? I am sure that you believe as I do that love and friendship and positive thinking is what Children should be seeing and hearing, instead of hearing all of the negatives and the harm that is caused in the name of "Hate!" Hatred is not something that we could simply erase; (Its ugly head, has been around for thousands of years!) however, we Adults do have the power to see to it, that our children are given the opportunity to change this ugly concept. Lets allow Children to become friends with the entire population…lets allow them to communicate via computers and ICGN. (Allow them to communicate by all other means as well) Perhaps what I want to accomplish with ICGN is wishful thinking on my part, however, what if my concept works if given a chance? My concept is a simple one… My Concept is simple; I honestly believe that Children are born innocent and stay innocent until certain Adults corrupt them. (I believe that this idea is believed to be true by most people) Assuming that this is correct, what if with your help, we try something different, (Employ a different attitude) why not encourage Children at an early age that everyone is created equal and that they should make friends with other children situated all over the World. Is it so hard to believe that today's young Children of the World cannot accomplish what Adults have failed to do for thousands of years? (Living in peace and harmony) I believe that today's Children, with your support do have a chance to turn things around, they could start by simply having friendly communications with other Children using Computers and ICGN (Their Newspaper) and to continue communicating with such friends even when they get Older. In other words, to have today's innocent Children maintain a similar love towards humanity even when they get older. (Is it not logical that "Friends" do not hurt or kill "Friends"?) Is this concept a possibility? There is only one way to find out, lets try it, and lets make the effort… Lets teach Children that it is OK for Children to make friends with all people, no matter what they look like, no matter where they happen to live and that "Respect" is never one sided… Let us teach Children that love is better than hatred, that the good is better than bad, that the Positive is better than the negative and that it is better to try to make positive changes than to sit back and hope that good things happen all by themselves. Adults must change their attitude… Children are people too, the idea that Children should be seen and not heard is old fashioned and stupid lets change this old attitude, lets allow children to express themselves too. (Should they not have say regarding their own future?) A s founder of ICGN, I am proud to have created this friendly tool; I hope and pray that the Children of the World will be allowed to use ICGN as intended. (To be able to improve things between all people and experience all of the good things that could be had via communication, care and understanding)I further hope and pray that you "Adults" support ICGN because of the profound changes that could occur if the Children of the World decide to embrace the ideas behind ICGN. ICGN is not just a Newspaper, ICGN allows Children to not only write Articles considered "News", they could simply write Articles of interest that they feel they wish to share with the rest of the World. By support, I mean that if the above makes sense to you, you would support ICGN by telling your Children that it is OK for them to write their thoughts and to share them with the World via ICGN. (Be assured that ICGN will not publish that which is bad or negative) Also please tell your Children to read ICGN's News presented by other Children of the World.
