To: President Barack H. Obama, President of the United States.
“How many people must die, or lose their homes and lose our precious California Forests before something is done?
We are all familiar with the saying, “Killing two birds with one stone?”
I am going to respectfully introduce you to my saying, “Saving Lives with Common Sense” or
"With common sense Two Negatives could become Two Positives"
First of all I wish to state that year after year due to the rain, during the rainy season, in the Mid-west, many people lose their homes and often their lives. (This is a fact)
I also wish to point out, that year after year; fires destroy the forests in California. (This is a fact)
Before I go on, do we not need trees for our very survival? Don’t trees give out the very Oxygen that we breathe?
Above I have pointed out two destructive/disastrous things that occur yearly, caused by “RAIN” and “FIRE”.
The rain is destructive only when the water has no where to go and
Forest fires are bound to occur more often when they are very dry. (My idea will not stop all fires, however, if implemented; my idea would lessen fires and save many people’s lives).
Now to my idea: “Saving Lives with Common Sense” or "With common sense Two Negatives could become Two Positives"
Above I stated that Rain/Water is destructive when it has no place to go.
I also stated that more fires are bound to occur when the Forests are dry. (I am no expert I am simply using Common Sense)
Solution to the above yearly disasters:
Step 1
The US Government hires experts in order to see where to strategically develop Large Reservoirs in the Mid-West so that when it Rains in the Mid-West, the water from the rain will have a place to go and in the process no harm would occur to anyone. (No question, this would be an expensive undertaking)
Step 2
The US Government Hires Experts in order to see the best way to have the water from the above mentioned Reservoirs brought to the dry forests in California in order to help keep the trees, the leaves, etc., Moist. (No question, this undertaking would even be more expensive than the above mentioned Reservoirs).
As I have stated, I am not an expert on how to do the above, however, my brain tells me that since People figured a way to move Oil via piping hundreds of miles in cold Alaska, People could figure out how to best move life saving water from the Mid-West to California Forests.
Mr. President, you could accomplish the above with US Tax Dollars and all Americans would be very proud of you if you were to propose such an undertaking.
I am aware that the above idea is easier stated than done and the cost would be huge; however, why not consider spending money to save lives instead of spending money on stupid Wars?
(What good did the War in Iraq do for Americans?) An honest answer would be shameful…
Here is one other idea and a possible solution on how to possibly accomplish the above and possibly save money as well:
Why not bring home all of our Armed forces from all over the World to protect us from our enemies and at the same time have the young Soldiers go to College for a good education and at the same time work part time on the above mentioned Project.
Mr. President, I am hoping that since I know how you feel about the Iraqi War and how you feel about Americans having a good Education, you would be the one President that will examine what I have stated above and hopefully you will act accordingly.
Respectfully,
Aloysius Dalli
